Today lavender is found in the western Mediterranean area up to Greece, everywhere in sunny areas and soils with a high lime component.
The blossoming panicles are harvested. The essential lavender oil can be obtained by water vapour
distillation. The basic components are almost completely preserved in this process. Approximately 80 kilograms are required to obtain 1 kilogram of essential oil.
Application areas
Externally:
The pleasant, flowery scent has a beneficial effect for all temperamental states and nervous tensions.
Internally:
For health disorders such as anxieties, sleep disorders, functional upper abdominal disorders as well as irritated stomachs or intestinal complaints.
